Edwin Mumbere
Director
Edwin Mumbere is the visionary director of the Centre for Citizens Conserving Environment & Management (CECIC), dedicated to fostering sustainable development and renewable energy access in Uganda. With a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, Edwin has led numerous initiatives that empower communities, particularly focusing on training women in the installation and maintenance of solar systems. His leadership has been crucial in implementing the Women 4 Renewable Energy Access project across the Albertine and Rwenzori regions.
Under Edwin’s guidance, CECIC has become a prominent advocate for renewable energy solutions, engaging in policy consultation with the Ugandan government to reduce taxation on renewable energy products. This advocacy aims to make renewable energy more accessible and affordable for the general population. Edwin’s approach combines environmental conservation with socio-economic development, providing marginalized groups, especially women, with valuable skills and economic opportunities.
Edwin envisions a future where renewable energy is the standard, not the alternative. His work with CECIC focuses on creating community-driven solutions to ensure sustainable energy access for all. Through his efforts, Edwin continues to transform lives, promote environmental responsibility, and build a resilient and sustainable future for Uganda and beyond.

Betty Achola
Programmes Coordinator
Mrs. Betty is the Programmes and research Officer for Center for citizens conserving environment and management (CECIC) in charge of making research about Climate change, Natural Resource governance, Agriculture, Wildlife conservation and Oil $ livelihoods and Projects Coordination.
Betty also coordinates the Shared Resources Programme which is being implemented to improve the livelihood of rural communities for sustainable development in Kasese and Rwenzori Region through programs for climate justice, natural conservation and human rights advocacy in order to preserve and protect our planet.

Kenneth Bwambale
Associate Programmes Coordinator

Royleen Kabugho
Finance & Admin
Royleen Kabugho serves as the Finance and Admin Officer at the Centre for Citizens Conserving Environment & Management (CECIC), bringing her expertise and dedication to the organization’s financial and administrative operations. With a background in finance and a passion for environmental conservation, Bridget plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of CECIC’s programs and initiatives.
Bridget’s responsibilities encompass overseeing the financial management of CECIC, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Her meticulous attention to detail and strategic financial planning have been instrumental in securing the financial health of the organization. legal Officer
Eldad Mwahulhwa, serving as the Legal Officer at the Centre for Citizens Conserving Environment & Management (CECIC), is a dedicated lawyer committed to upholding the law. Brenda Mbabazi
Gender &Climate Change
Brenda Mbabazi serves as the Gender and Climate Change Officer at the Centre for Citizens Conserving Environment & Management (CECIC), where she combines her expertise in gender issues with her passion for environmental sustainability. Brenda is dedicated to integrating gender perspectives into climate change initiatives, ensuring that women and other marginalized groups are actively involved in and benefit from sustainable development projects.

Harriet Naggawa
Communication Officer
Harriet Naggawa is a Communications Officer at center for citizen conserving environment and management (CECIC).
She assists the organisation in developing content for various communication materials, manages and updates cecic’s social media platforms to ensure consistent online presence.
She also supports in the planning and coordination of events, webinars and workshops related to our environmental conservation.

Lilian Musoki
Campaigns Manager
Mbambu Barbara is the dynamic Campaigns Manager for Climate Change at the Centre for Citizens Conserving Environment & Management (CECIC). Hellen Masika
Field Coordinator
Hellen Masika serves as the Field Coordinator at the Centre for Citizens Conserving Environment & Management (CECIC), where she brings her dedication and expertise to the forefront of environmental conservation and community empowerment initiatives. Erius Kule
Environmental Health Campaigner
Erius is our Environmental Health Campaigner. Erius is a public health professional and researcher with over 10 years of experience in the public health and development sectors in Uganda and France. She has held project coordinator and research positions at the MSF in Uganda,Lilian holds a Master of Public Health degree, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources, and monitoring and evaluation experience.
